I enjoyed a nice afternoon run watching the sun set on 2007. I expanded on a nice route in town that included a run around a town park and pond and around another nice town lake. In all it was a wonderful way to end 2007. As 2008 lays ahead I wish everyone a healthy, happy, peaceful new year.

Well today I ran one of my last runs of 2007. It has been a pretty good year for me. I ran almost three times a week and upped my mileage to near 6 miles per run. I also ran (and finished) the New York City Marathon. My next goal is to finish the Boston Marathon! Other than that I may try for the Green Bay Marathon as well. I hope to get out for a run tomorrow if the weather allows me to. Oh, and the baby doesn't come!

Today was warm, in high 30s, sunny, and breezy. It was a perfect day to run and certainly a calm before another "big" storm we are supposed to get this weekend.

The last snow "event" sort of petered out and didn't deliver what the weather people promised. This next storm, however, promises to bring a bit more snow.

My run felt good and I was glad I increased the miles a bit. Hopefully next week I can get back towards 6 miles a day.

I also caught up on all my reports and emails from my trip to China. I enjoy traveling, just not catching up when I get back. Oh well, there are certainly worse things in life.

Just as soon as the snow started to really fall I headed out for a nice run along the Hudson in the snow. It was more like freezing pellets of ice, but by the time my run ended it was more like big wet flakes of snow. It was so much fun.

I was surprised to find a few die hard runners were also out running. In fact, one woman was running in tights and a tee shirt! Some people are just crazy. But then many of the people walking around probably thought I am crazy too.

Oh well, it was fun running in New York in the snow.

Christmas is rapidly approaching. Now that the boys are getting a little older and are starting to get into the excitement of the holidays we decided to upgrade or camcorder. That was our gift to each other. I can't wait to capture the looks of the boys faces when they see all the presents under the tree.

My gift to myself this year is to keep running and try to increase my miles. I won't make any silly New Years resolution to do that because I rarely honor those.

Instead I want to give myself the gift of motivation to keep running.

Well it was a foggy cool run on my first day back in the office from China. I had hoped to run a little over four miles but settled for just over three.

The weather was cold but really humid so it didn't feel so bad. We are supposed to get some ice and snow by the end of the week. Hopefully I will stay motivated to keep getting out.
