My oldest son has Down syndrome. He is a client of the Kennedy Center. No, not the performing arts center in Washington, DC. This is a much more powerful Kennedy Center. The Kennedy Center I am talking about helped my son learn to walk and talk. Much more powerful than a musical or performance art.
On September 16 the Kennedy Center is holding their annual Breakfast Challenge. All you have to do is stop by the Circle Diner at 441 Post Road in Fairfield, Connecticut between 8 and 9:30 am and have breakfast. Yup, enjoy a cup of coffee and leave a small donation to help the Kennedy Center help people like my son. In these times organizations are finding it harder and harder to raise money. Why not save the $3 for a Starbucks latte and instead have a good old fashioned cup of coffee? You can help someone with special needs in the process.
