So should I?

Race Start

I had high hopes of getting into the New York City Marathon this year. Last week was the lottery and I learned I did not earn a spot in the race. I do have the option of running for charity and, perhaps, I would take them up on that offer except my favorite charity isn't partnered with ING. Instead I am considering running the Hartford Connecticut marathon.

I really need to work out, begin running in earnest, and lose some weight and the thought of running 26.2 miles should be motivation enough to get my butt in gear. Honestly, however, I don't know if I have it in me. No, I know I can run 26.2 miles. I don't know if I have the discipline necessary to train for a marathon!

How do you motivate yourself? How do you get out there and just do it? How do you keep from eating that extra helping of lunch or dinner and instead go out and run? Where do you find the time?
